Budapest International College acceptance rates

Photo illustrating the news item

Budapest International College (BIC) is an admissions office, so naturally, we handle thousands and thousands of international students admissions each semester. Also, we recruit to multiple universities and dozens of study programs, which requires an admissions team with many skills and interests. Naturally, prospective students are often very interested in the acceptance rates, since they want to make a guess about their chances to get admitted to their chosen institution.

BIC acceptance rate is 40-60%
Depending on the methodology we use, the acceptance rate is around 40-60%.

-If we count everyone who registers in our application system, the number is lower, around 10%
-If we only count those who actually submit their application, the number is around 30%
-If we count those applications who upload all their documents, the rate is around 50%
-Out of those who actually take the admissions interview and test, the acceptance rate is around 60%

Main reasons to fail
There are typical issues where students churn during the process.

-Not uploading all documents, not even after several emails (please note that if you don’t have your final school documents / degree YET, that’s usually not an issue)
-Documents not acceptable for some reason (age above the limit, fraudulent documents, very poor grades etc.)
-Failed interview or test (check admission interview biggest mistakes here, and our admission interview tips here)

Is it possible to retake the interview or test?
The application process might be stressful, but don’t worry; most things are usually correctable. For example, if you didn’t upload a document, don’t worry- our admissions team will let you know & you can upload it.

The interview and test are a little bit different. Whether you can retry depends on the reason you failed and the circumstances.

When you can possibly try again (please talk to the admissions team to arrange):

-bad internet connection, not possible to conduct the interview and test normally
failed test but you practice and would try again next year/ semester
insufficient English but you practice and would try again next year/ semester

When you surely cannot try again:

-disrespectful, rude behaviour
-dishonest motivation for application

All in all, if you do some honest preparation, and you are respectful & motivated during your admissions interview, the chances are actually very high to get accepted to your chosen university.
