BBU (BGE) renamed to Budapest University of Economics and Business (BUEB)

On December 16, the Hungarian Parliament passed an amendment to the National Higher Education Act, which includes reclassifying Budapest Business University from its current status as a “university of applied sciences” to the highest category of “university” as of February 1, 2025. Along with this change, the institution will be renamed Budapest University of Economics and Business (BUEB).

This recognition is a testament to the university’s decades-long commitment to academic excellence and institutional development.

With its new status, Budapest University of Economics and Business aims to further strengthen its position as the leading institution in Hungary for economic sciences.
