Year by year, more researchers from Óbuda University are making their way into Stanford University’s citation rankings.

Among the most cited researchers globally in 2024 are Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, the rector of ÓE, Prof. Dr. Tamás Haidegger, Dr. Prof. János Fodor, Prof. Dr. László Szilágyi and Dr. Amir Mosavi, all of whom are also faculty members at the Neumann János Faculty of Informatics.

The Faculty of Economics also has their fair share of excellence: Dr. habil. Mónika Garai-Fodor, dean of the Keleti Károly Faculty of Economics (KGK), Dr. habil. Ágnes Csiszárik-Kocsir, vice-dean, as well as Prof. Dr. Judit Telegdi, professor emerita of ÓE, and Dr. Ildikó Horváth are also on the most-cited list.

Stanford University regularly publishes a database that contains the achievements of more than 100,000 researchers—approximately 2% of the world’s scientists. This database provides standardized information on citations, the h-index, the hm-index adjusted for co-authorship, and citations for papers in different authorial positions. Separate data are provided for career-long and one-year impact.

The list has been published in two versions this year as well: one listing the most cited researchers in 2024 and another evaluating the cumulative impact of scientists’ entire careers up to the end of 2024. It considers all their publications and the citations these works have garnered over time. In this ranking, seven researchers associated with Óbuda University were included.

Two Australian scientists, Amir Gandomi and Seyedali Mirjalili, who are distinguished professors in Óbuda University’s excellence program, were also included on Stanford’s list of the world’s most cited researchers.

Budapest International College also makes sure to choose the most excellent professors for the foundation programs, thus most Math & Physics related subjects are taught by ÓU profs.
