Overview

University of Dunaújváros is a regional innovational center, which is also set to become Hungary’s center for training and development in the field of nuclear technology, given its proximity to the largest nuclear plant in Hungary. The University of Dunaújváros is located in the lovely town Dunaújváros, approx an hour drive from Budapest.

The history of the university goes back the 1950’s, but got a massive renovation and investment in the early 2000s. The University of Dunaújváros is the perfect choice for you if are looking for an affordable, yet modern tech university with a family-like campus.

It consists of 15 buildings forming a complex of modern classrooms, lecture halls, on-campus dormitory, a public library, professional laboratories, sport and leisure facilities and newly renovated student hostels.

UOD has great laboratories as well, a part of which serves the practical needs of our education, and quite a few of them are devoted to research & development in cooperation with the significant industrial companies of the region.

This BSc programme in Computer Science Engineering offers a broad-based approach to Computer Engineering and provides the students with an educational profile that combines in-depth informatics competence with a solid knowledge in computer science. Core content of the course comprises engineering, informatics and business subject matters. Specialist options include business informatics, networks, system engineering, and software technology. Students learn how computer architectures are designed; how systems and networks operate; how softwares and systems are programmed; and how new processes are implemented and applied. Computer Science Engineering topics make extensive use of case studies and project work; and a wide range of assessment methods is employed.

During their studies students are required to take up to 210 credits, each semester totaling 30 credits. There are six core modules in each semester of the first three years of the programme.

Year One
Core Modules: Analysis, Basics of Calculus, Engineering Physics, Business Economics, Computer Architectures, Introduction to Computer Sciences, Engineering Mathematics, Databases, Introduction to Operating Systems, Basics of Programming

Year Two
Core Modules: Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Basics of Electronics, Digital Technology, Telecommunication and Information Networks, Operating Systems, Visual Programming, Software Development Technologies, Information Systems Development, Information Security.

Year Three
Core Modules: Measure and Control Technology, PC Configurations and Multimedia Tools, Numerical methods
Specialisations: Networks & System Engineering and Software technology modules.
Option modules/electives.

Year Four (only one semester)
Core Modules: Business Law.
Specialisation option modules/electives.
Thesis Project.
