Famous Alumni
József Galamb – The first world-famous student was József Galamb, designer of the FORD Model T.
Charles Balough- President of the Hercules Motor Manufacturing Company, designer of Ford T-modell
Rudolf Emil Kálmán – electrical engineer, mathematician, inventor of Kálmán filter
ÓU students are involved in professional practice at foreign partners annually; students are required and encouraged to participate in active research and design in the project laboratories and to develop their abilities to do independent research.
The aim of the course is to qualify computer science engineers who are competent to install, develop and maintain technical IT and information infrastructure systems and services, and to participate in the design and development tasks of the data and program systems of those, as well as possess the necessary high-level knowledge to pursue the program at a master level.
Our training provides a wide range of knowledge and expertise in one of the most dynamic sectors of the domestic and international market. You will become a professional with practical software development and application skills that meet the needs of the labour market, while at the same time providing you with the theoretical foundation to continue your studies at MSc level.
Programme structure
Specializations:
- Cloud service technologies
- IT security
Please note that specialisations are launched only with the necessary amount of students.
Studying with us will give you a broad professional grounding in the first few semesters, followed by a mastery of the core IT subjects. The core curriculum consists of modules in systems engineering, software engineering and IT systems. You will be required to demonstrate your mastery of the core knowledge by successfully completing the professional diploma at the end of the first stage of your studies.
From the 4th semester onwards, you can study the specialisation in Cloud Service Technologies and IT Security, which will provide you with in-depth, specialised theoretical and practical knowledge in this field of IT in the curricular application of IT.
You will also be expected to complete an appropriate number of electives during the foundation and specialisation courses. These subjects deal with popular, topical issues in computer science, giving you the opportunity to gain additional knowledge in cutting-edge areas of computer science. In the final year of your training, the main aim is to write a thesis, for which you can get professional help during your placement, even from the companies concerned.
